Completeness
Please submit an executive summary and/or a business plan. If submitting a summary, make sure that it goes through the proposed product/technology in as much detail as possible. We are less interested in a consolidation of analyst market numbers than we are in technology specifics. Please include short biographies of all of the management and founding team members.

Geographic Considerations
August Capital mainly invests in companies located in or near Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. Investments not on the west coast of the United States are highly unlikely to be pursued.

Area of Focus
We primarily concentrate upon communications equipment (including optical networking), semiconductors, software, storage and internet services. Furthermore, we do not invest in the biotechnology, health care and retail sectors.

Referrals
Finally, please note that given the large number of unsolicited plans that we receive each year, we rarely have a chance to give each of them the attention that they deserve. The best way to ensure that your plan is reviewed is to send it to us after it has been reviewed by someone with whom we have worked in the past. Our relationships with numerous entrepreneurs, companies and their accounting, legal and banking entities often provide us with some of the best introductions.
